Thank you so much for your support! Here is a bit of our story of how Happy Life Designs TM got started!
Happy Life Designs TM was created to design unique gifts with a twist honoring our Blessed Mother and the gift of life. When my adopted daughter started with seizures at 3 months old it took us months to find the cause, she was resistant to medicines, we went through months trying to stop her seizures until we found out that her biological mother attempted an abortion causing brain damage to the frontal left lobe. That’s when we started Happy Life Designs TM! I wanted to do something positive out of this heartbreak and despite the struggle without knowing what the outcome was going to be, we had faith in God and we knew Our Blessed Mother had always been with us, helping us through the tough times, and we had faith that she would continue guiding us in the right direction.
My oldest daughter, who was 7 at the time and now 14, wanted to help and do something to help babies to be born healthy, (that was her understanding of Pro-Life). We designed our Logo, started our Facebook page and went on with our designs, she started making all of the kids designs by herself and was super happy when she got orders. She never made a penny out of her work and it all went to donation, she loved it! We have retired that kid’s category and school keeps her very busy, however she helps me with orders when I get super busy since I make the rest of the lines we offer. I have my full-time job, care for both of the girls along with my husband who helps and supports Happy Life Designs as well in any way possible, deliveries, he orders for special occasions or gifts he want to do for groups or schools. At night is when I am able to work on orders and enjoy every minute of it, it has become therapeutic and it fills my heart with joy. This is also something that I think my little one could do in the future as she progresses with her development.
My little one had brain surgery in 2017, she was seizure free for almost 1 year and then seizures returned, she had another surgery in 2020 where they implanted and RNS in the brain which works as a pace maker for the heart but in this case for the brain, stopping or lowering the strength in seizures when they happen. It has helped tremendously, lowering her seizures to about 90%. She has been a complete miracle, she wasn’t even crawling when she went into her first surgery, she was 2 years 4 months, now she is 8 years old and she is not only walking but running and all over the place, continues moving forward with her development, has over 10 therapies per week and even though she is still non-verbal we know that with the Grace of God she will get there, she is the light of our lives, we go each day thanking God for this miracle and for giving us the privilege to have her in our lives, her big sister adores her and we know that there is a reason why she was sent to all of us. We all believe our lives wouldn’t be the same without her.
